Chobot + Keep A Breast + Kratos = God(dess) of War posted by TheBaroness at 13:36PM

I am INCREDIBLY stoked!

Just got word this morning that Erik San Juan (the gent from Sony that agreed to paint my chesticle mold from KAB) just completed the chestplate in the style of Kratos and it looks PHENOMENAL!!!!!!

In fact, it turned out SO well that Sony agreed to include it (behind glass of course ;) in their God of War art display at the Gnomon Gallery in LA !

After that, it might make a brief stop at San Diego Comic-Con and then - AUCTION TIME!!!

Which one of you lucky individuals will check to see if the turkey is done?

Jose Cuervo - Denver: men with a semi and I'm in a skirt. posted by TheBaroness at 16:00PM

Just about to kick off the Jose Cuervo games here in Denver. Co-host
Blair Herter is looking mighty fine in his stage attire. I, however,
and feeling awkward and looking slightly over-feminine in a skirt.
Mostly because it's 90 degrees here and my undercarriage is about to
start chafing due to never ending sweat.

Curious to see what I look like when I embrace my female side (the
small amount that's there), then tune into JustinTV at 8 tonight for
the live event!

MUZAK. posted by TheBaroness at 14:19PM

Been on a big music kick lately. With all the travel I do, I burn through playlists  rather quickly and so am constantly on the look out for "new / new to me" stuff.

My latest song du jour is AF607105 by Charlotte Gainsbourg, In For The Kill by La Roux and almost everything byMiike Snow. As always, I've added my friend's band, Pollyns, and their cover of Tom's Diner (another good one to check out on that 'Uncovering A Cure' album is Left Over Cuties version of Lady Gaga's Poker Face - BRILLIANT!)

Another happy discovery in my Last.FM "app" for my work dektop PC. Not incredibly intuitive of a program (I'm still attempting to fumble my way through learning how to assemble a playlist and add things to favorites) but certainly give you a wide and accurate insta-list (MUCH better than Pandora) and perfect for discovering new bands you might have missed along the way.

Another good one to give a try when you're stuck at the cubicle is the live music stream over at KCRW. They have quite the eclectic playlist and I have found quite a few gems (the only downside is that you're locked into whatever they're playing at the time and can't skip forward if you're not into the current song selection).

Both Last.FM & KCRW have iPhone apps which are both fairly exceptional - although I favor KCRW since LastFM seems to take longer to load. Best part? Both are FREE!

*If you want me to add you as a "friend" on my Last.FM list -I believe that means you'll be able to see my playlists and check them out for yourself - search for "JessicaChobot" and send a request. Don't expect an instant add though - I'm not a fan of the Last.FM site and rarely go, choosing to use their desktop player instead - however, I will check and add people on ocassion.

Sam Fisher - You're One Hot Older Single Father posted by TheBaroness at 15:57PM

Just wrapped on Splinter Cell: Conviction the other day. Overall I feel I can sum up my experience in a simple sentence: Fun at times but mostly frustrating.

Character-wise, I feel an elder Sam Fisher was portrayed well. His appearance in the game was more believable as a Bruce Willis/Pulp Fiction character versus old "Ron Burgundy" (it's the mustache) Snake from Metal Gear Solid 4.

The daughter-angle was a nice touch and added a depth to Fischer that is usually missing in these types of alpha-male games.

However, I found the actual daughter role a bit pointless and a weak connection into what Third Echelon was up to... or with whomever was up to whatever. The story seemed so disjointed at points that I ended up losing track of what was actually happening. Which is a shame since it really could have added more cohesion to what quickly became nothing more than cat & mouse shoot 'em up stages.

The black and white was a nice touch but it quickly lost its impact.

rn

I never quite caught on to "ghostly Sam" which was supposed to draw fire by the AI but only seemed to do so 90% of the time. I also was a little irritated that near the end of the game, only certain lights were able to be shot out. Not because I wanted to make the game easier but because shooting out the bulbs is one of the highlights of the game. A detail that adds a certain amount of realism to the stealth aspects of the game. The sudden, 'you can't do that,' X marks the spot is a bit of a bummer.

Last major gripe: the available VO lines the AI ran through were incredibly limited. Much more variety is needed - especially for a game that is high in do-overs.

On a more positive note, the VO for Sam is excellent and perfectly matches the look of the character. The stealth, once you've found the rhythm, is quite well handled. But the best part of the whole game are the interrogations! They're EXCELLENT and many more could - and should - have been added to the title.

All in all - in my personal "did I have fun w/ this title?" 5-star rating system (and not holding my dislike for these types of games into account), I would give it a 3 out of 5. Straight down the middle. Pick it up if you're a Fisher fan but if you're so-so with these games, or new to the franchise, rent it first.

*Update: Recently announced news that SC:Conviction will have new DLC which includes new missions and achievements by May 27th.**
